Iphigenie Worbes is an opera and concert singer performing at numerous opera festivals and productions in Europe and Israel, such as the Vienna Opera Festival, the Lyric Opera Festival Jerusalem, Kunstfest Weimar, Mozartfest Würzburg and the Bach Festival Jerusalem.

In the 2023/24 season she made her house debut at Theater Erfurt and her role debut as Agathe in Weber's "Freischütz" at Schlossfestspiele EttlingenIn the 2021/22 season, she made her debuts at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar and the Meininger Staatstheater.

After winning first place in the Charles Schneider Competition at Jerusalem Opera, she received engagements there for the 2018-20 seasons.

Ms. Worbes' operatic repertoire includes the role of Donna Elvira from Mozart's "Don Giovanni," Elle from Poulenc's "La Voix Humaine", Gianetta from Donizetti's "L'elisir d'amore" and more.

In the summer of 2021, she interpreted Pierrot Lunaire by Schoenberg with the contemporary music ensemble Meitar, which was broadcasted on the Israeli radio station KolHaMusica.

 

Furthermore, Ms. Worbes gained recognition for her concert activities. In 2019, she won the first prize of the Ada Brodsky Art Song Competition. She was also awarded for the best performance of Viktor Ullmann's songs. In the same year, she was invited to sing selected songs from Des Knaben Wunderhorn by Mahler with the Hovevei HaMusica Orchestra in Jerusalem.

In 2018/19, Ms. Worbes sang with the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra the St. John Passion (J.S. Bach) for the Bach Festival under Maestro Joshua Rifkin, and solo and repieni parts in Henry Purcell's Indian Queen under conductor Andrew Parrott. 

 

Iphigenie Worbes completed her Master of Music degree at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in 2021 with Prof. Efrat Ben-Nun, for which she received the Goldberg Foundation Scholarship for Outstanding Students and the Jerusalem Academy's 2021 President's Award. She then continued her studies at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar with Prof. Anne Schwanewilms.

In 2023, Ms. Worbes will begin her master class studies at the doctoral level at the University of Music and Theater Leipzig with Prof. Carola Guber.

Alongside of her love for music, Iphigenie is passionate about acting.

In summer 2018, Iphigenie received an Acting Certificate at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York. 

Before her opera studies, Iphigenie performed major roles in several theatres in Germany, including the Fritz Theater Chemnitz, Connewitzer Cammerspiele, Die naTo and Theaterhaus Schille in Leipzig.
